A Bold Start is Half Done

NIT Tourism Promotion is determined to make its maiden edition of HTM 2019 count as was seen at its first event in form an ideating platform. In a bold move, NIT Tourism Promotion had called for an ideating platform in form of a seminar titled ‘Opportunities and Challenges for Tourism in New India. The event also saw unveiling of the logo of NIT Tourism: ‘New India Tourism: Past Forward’.

The seminar was well crafted- starting from its timings, venue, choice of speakers and topics. In fact, the organisers packed in a punch- literally speaking- with insightful opening session, case studies, panel discussion, policy inputs and open hearted address from the Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur towards the close.

The crusade for relentless discipline throughout the seminar led by Rakesh Mathur kept the speakers on time and audiences attentive from the very start till the close!

The organisers did managed to deliver their intent and heights they intend to scale with the newly formed NIT Tourism Promotion as its Director and Co-ordinator Sunil Gupta gave away the dates for the maiden edition of the Heritage Travel Mart 2019 (HTM) in his token of thanks to the august house present.

Need for the Heritage Mart

Incredible India is undergoing a rapid transition and is consistently looking at new platforms for its promotion. The year 2018 saw an ambitious attempt in form of curating a global tourism mart in New Delhi in PPP mode with DoT and Umbrella Travel Trade Body- FAITH! Although the maiden attempt went largely haywire! Earlier another travel trade veteran- who is credited to have built one of biggest travel exhibition called SATTE -in his second inning is finding the pitch different from the past!

Perhaps time is ripe for a Bold and niche Heritage Travel Mart to redefine Heritage for New India and World Travel Market. “USP of India is its heritage! And with the Heritage Travel Mart 2019 (HTM), our aim to showcase the wide ranging heritage spread across India, its states, monuments, culture, hotels, museums, golf courses, food, dances, yoga, wellness and what not,”  shared Tarun Thakral.

“Mind you, we are building this heritage mart as an international event keeping in mind the aspirations of New India, its 300 million plus domestic tourists and the discerning international travellers,” he added.

Presently work is in progress shared Swati Bansal, who quite literally looked to be more anxious than be it Rahul Gandhi or Narendra Modi for the present general elections of 2019 to get over as she wait to weave together the Heritage Travel Mart 2019 in a grand success story!

The manner in which NIT Tourism Promotions managed to win support of MOT and travel trade associations including IATO, TAAI, TAFI, ATOAI, NIMA, IHHA and other prominent organisation- no wonder the team at work knows the job at hand very well!
