Travel Fraternity is saddened to realise the loss of one of its towering personality and association leader- Praveen Chugh to a massive heart attack at Delhi International Airport on 26 March 2019. According to his colleagues he was returning from a day long MC meet.
Having built one of enviable business to business empire- Praveen Chugh was among the first to see the emergence of the online travel eco-system and accordingly merged its B2B trade business with Yatra in 2010. The TSI-Yatra merger created a fortune to Praveen Chugh’s balance sheet, at the same time unfolded one of the difficult period in his personal life. He came back from the lows and worked his way back to corporate world.
Praveen Chugh’s in-depth knowledge on service tax, aviation and other trade issues were the guiding force and was sought after by not only TAFI but other associations as well. No wonder he was playing a pivotal role in WTAA, FAITH among other leading trade and industry bodies, and stood tall as one of the most polite leaders.
At this sad moment condolences are pouring in from all parts of the travel fraternity. One thing that one should learn from here is that there is need of more awareness on health issues particularly heart ailments. If, there were sufficient awareness on signs and symptoms that were evident and could have helped save Praveen Chugh– we all have felt better off!
