Startup infuses filmy twist with niche destination trails for Cinema loving Indian travellers

Cinema in India reflect growing aspirations of over 1.3 billion Indians! Its one of the reasons that Indians love movies, actors and do also aspire to live some bit of the reel life fun in the real life. To give vent to such desire, Gurugram based startup, Filmyholidays, has woven reel inspired experiences spread across several destination into real life holiday packages for Cinema loving Indian travellers.

With great interest in travel & movies- Vishal Kumar, Founder, Filmyholidays, is prompt to cite that several reports, both global & local, corroborate the fact that cinema moves people, literally. As cinema travels places and explores some of the world’s most visually stunning cities, architectures and landscapes, so does the desires of the average Indian traveller watching that cinema. Be it Bollywood (Indians changes fortunes of Tourism in Spain’s after the release of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and similarly with Prague after ‘Rockstar’, Corsica after ‘Tamasha’ etc) or Hollywood (The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones etc). Not to forget Switzerland is an dream destination for most Indians- courtesy Yash Raj Films to a great extent!

“While this idea of film inspired travel has been touched upon by existing travel operators & bloggers, however information about movie shoot locations and travel solutions to these places is either scattered or not developed properly. There is no one travel provider which aggregates this plethora of information and presents it in a useful way to travellers. Filmyholidays aims to bridge this gap by becoming a one stop platform for film location information & travel solution to these places. To enable this, filmyholidays has tied up with Expedia and is growing its partnership base with technology providers, cultural curators, event based companies and local photographers,” adds Vishal sensing a great opportunity here!

Currently focused only on the domestic market, Filmyholidays is looking to reach out to youngsters and newly married couples who are constantly looking out for a different travel experience every time. The startup offers highly personalised itinerary to these travellers basis their preference of favourite movies, hotel types, travel modes, activities etc. It recently launched 4N/5D Jaipur & Udaipur packages inspired by the movie ‘DHADAK’ which includes experiences like on-site photoshoot, vintage car ride etc.
