Campo Viejo is the No.1 Rioja wine globally with over 35 million bottles sold worldwide. It is also the No. 1 Red wine in the UK. India has a great market potential and Campo Viejo is growing well around the world, so it made sense to expand into India. This as an exciting phase for us and we are confident that not only will Campo Viejo enhance our connection with the fun loving, experimenting, modern yet evolved Indian consumers, but will also set a new benchmark in the wine category in India and become our second pillar after Jacob’s Creek”
Campo Viejo makes its debut in India with two joven wine variants, a 100% Tempranillo and a Viura-Tempranillo Blanco
Speaking on the occasion, Alexandre Barre, Wine Ambassador, Campo Viejo, said, “The drinkability of this wine is the key to its success in India; it’s a wine that will appeal to most consumers. While in India, we have been familiar with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (Shiraz) varieties for a while thanks to our homegrown wine industry, but Tempranillo is a new grape to us. Campo Viejo is a very fruit-forward wine, very smooth and easy to drink. There’s a smell of red fruits, a touch of liquorice, and because the wine is aged for four months in American oak barrels, there’s also a hint of vanilla and coconut.
The wines will be available across 5 Star Hotels, premium restaurants & liquor stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
