The eclectic choices of services make small, smart and elegant: Radisson Noida a small smart upscale business hotel that stands out among its larger peers in the vicinity. Suchitra Chanda and Sanjeev take a tour a tour of the hotel to understand its business proposition and services on offer for the corporate segment, while it is trying smart moves to attract leisure travellers as well. Here is the first hand narrative of own experience by Suchitra!
This hotel buzzes with activities during weekdays due to its corporate positioning, whereas weekend occupancy dips a bit. The hotel, in fact, was launched as Radisson, the upgraded brand to its erstwhile existence as Park Plaza, in May 2017, after it went through extensive renovation. This hotel, having started its operating in 2008 as Park Plaza, has now caught the imaginations of many customers with average occupancy rising significantly.
Upscale business hotel
Located in Noida’s Sector 55 business district, Radisson Noida enjoys close proximity to Noida Golf Course and Noida Park. The hotel is small when compared to other business hotels in the vicinity, however, it has its own uniqueness that make it stand apart. It has 88 rooms and suites in five different categories with rates starting from INR9,000++ to INR20,000++. However, it aptly covers the aspects that make a perfect business hotel so. From providing isolated meeting rooms for small secluded groups to multi-purpose meeting and banqueting space spread across 4,360 square feet for large gatherings, having a separate entrance from that of the hotel lobby, can be split into four separate ballrooms. The three pre-function rooms include modern office equipment and personalised service.
Food is something that can make or break business! As its prime attraction proposition, Radisson Noida smartly serves varied cuisines to cater to different choices of customers. The hotel offers pan-Asian cuisine through its fairly new restaurant, Ni-Hao. I felt being in an authentic Chinese restaurant for its sheer decor and ambience; the vibrant splash of red colour and subtle lighting set-up accentuate the scene to immerse into the Oriental taste, and the lavish open kitchen concept (although separated by glass) keeps the atmosphere energetic. The spread of food is quite elaborate, and you should try ‘dieter’s special’ that would give the choices like steamed fish, tender chicken, steamed long beans, broccoli with haricot beans salad, Asian garden green salad, and many more recipes—which will not only satiate the elaborate food desires, but also give a taste of authenticity with a dash of wellness.
The Creative Kitchen at the ground level of the hotel offers the opportunity to relish global cuisine around the clock. It addresses the hotel’s need to cater to different set of nationals visiting the hotel for business purposes. The adjoining alfresco area is used to set up a proposition for a nice evening get-together for 25 people, while they dine at the Creative Kitchen.
Radisson Noida, being a business hotel, offers simple and tastefully done food for global travellers, and with perfection. At this level, right behind the front desk is the elaborate Ethyl Bar, which has geared up celebrating Oktoberfest, for people to enjoy light snack, enjoy finger food and cocktails. You can take a glance of the small little Cakewalk pastry shop to indulge into tempting sweet treats.
Food-wise, I enjoyed The Great Kebab Factory the most for its lavish (which appear simple predetermined fixed menu) dining experience. The brand is well-known and is beautifully positioned next to the roof-top swimming pool. An ambient dining set-up for good meal that comprises delicious and mouth-watering kebabs. The caring staff always ensure that we need to say ‘no’ aloud to the endless offering in starters. Although I enjoy non-vegetarian food, the vegetarian biryani needs a special mention. It was delicious. Dal Makhni can be your choice for simple end point for the main course, which you will love a lot.
The hotel is also getting a lot of interest from staycation travellers. This has given a new dimension to the hotel’s business proposition, and it has rightly added spa and salon services that would be enjoyed by in-house as well as walk-in customers.
The rooms have been elegantly done. The point that stands out is the extra space right at the entrance point of rooms, which gives a feeling of expanse. The washrooms have been elegantly done within minimal space for the standard rooms keeping the business hotel proposition. Keeping in mind the needs of business travellers, a standard room is an interesting proposition offering 40” LED TV, 24-hour in-room dining, high-speed, wireless Internet, iHome docking station, minibar and well-appointed workstation. Overall, the hotel stands firm on the offerings and is bound to delight travellers more in the times to come. It definitely makes a mark for being a smart business hotel.
